“If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel – as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them — wherever you go.” ~ Anthony Bourdain

Ugly River is located off the Junction main road St Mary in the Devon Pen community. Our journey started on Constant Spring Road and we continued onto Stony Hill Road. We continued into Golden Spring then Temple Hall. We passed another community called Brandon Hill and unto the Junction road, we drove. Our next landmark was Castleton Garden. We then cross two bridges the second led us to the Devon Pen Community which was a right turn after exiting the second bridge.

I discovered Ugly River while searching for new places to visit on YouTube. It’s one of those places that’s easy to find and affordable to explore. Right up my alley if you ask me.

I took this trip with Picksley Williams. He loves to travel, a storyteller like myself and a great travel partner. Get you someone that’s interesting and shares your passion. Your journey in life will be much more exciting, filled with joy and new experiences.

We decided on July 28, 2019, to venture to St Mary and explore Ugly River in the Devon Pen Community. We didn’t take public transport on this trip because it was a Sunday. This is because it takes a long time for the buses to be filled with passengers. Hence reaching your destination extremely late.

Ugly River is my go-to spot to relax, meditate, play, have a picnic etc.

My journey led me up the river.

Have you been to Ugly River? Tell me about your experience, I would love to here.
