From North Parade. I walked to Heywood Street and continued until I got to Darling Street. The coaster buses to Spanish Town, Old Harbour and May pen are parked across from Coronation market.

I saw yet another beautiful waterfall while scrolling through Instagram.

The location on the post was Connors St. Catherine. I had no idea how to get to Connors. I decided to ask the person who posted the pictures. My message went unanswered.

I am confused when persons hide gems on social media intending to hide the location. Yet they flood my direct message on Instagram asking how to find hidden gems that I had visited. The irony and selfishness.

Heading to Friendship Square

Most of these locations have been explored but not documented. Hence, you were not the first person to find it. As I told another Instagrammer, there is nowhere in Jamaica that is impossible to find.

I asked my co-worker Veron if she knew of a Waterfall in Connors in St. Catherine. She knew the directions to Connors but unaware of the waterfall.

This bar is in Friendship Square. I sat on a bridge across from the bar. I waited for someone from the community to accompany me to the hidden waterfall.

She indicated that her nephew might know where its location.

I immediately took his number and sent him a photo on WhatsApp. He said I should take a Connors taxi in Old Harbour. I should ask the driver for a stop at Bill’s Shop. There is a dirt track that leads to the hidden gem.

I sat on this bridge watching these ladies doing laundry in the river.

The waterfalls' gods answered my prayers. I have been longing to explore more of Saint Catherine because I have only been to Mountain River Cave and the Hydroelectric Plant on the Rio Cobre River.

I left my home at 6:00 AM and ventured to Downtown Kingston. My final stop was at North Parade. I continued my journey by walking on Heywood Street until I got to Darling Street. The Coaster buses to Spanish Town, Old Harbour, and May Pen parked across from Coronation Market.

Across from the bridge is the path to Waterfall shown by the arrow.

I waited five minutes before the bus ventured to Spanish Town. I waited another twenty minutes for passengers traveling to Old Harbour and May Pen.

When the bus got to Spanish Town, I told the conductor I needed a stop at the huge clock in Old Harbour.

Where the journey to Waterfall begins. So excited🤗😍😁

I then turn right. I asked the first taxi driver I saw about the location of the Connors taxis. He told me to continue walking until I saw a parking lot where the taxis were located.

I asked another driver. He pointed to a taxi parked in front of the taxi station. He said the taxi was heading to Connors. I proceeded to the driver. He confirmed he was going to Connors. I told him I wanted a stop at Bill’s shop. He indicated that he knew where Bill’s shop was located.

Acting like I known where I'm ’m going.🤣

The communities I passed before reaching Connors were; Bonnester, Bully Tree, Red Ground, Barton, Mead, Brown's Hall, Marley Hill, Bell Field, Blue Hole, Sandy Ground then Connors.

Traveling to Connors from Old Harbour was a day I will never forget. I was in the hills of Saint Catherine. It was beautiful. I felt the temperature change from warm to cold instantly. The cool breeze kissed my cheeks repeatedly while I stared out the window.

Ian caught me off guard.

When I got to Bill's Shop, I made my way to three men I saw having a conversation. I showed them the picture I had of the waterfall. They were not exactly sure where it was located. They asked a man who was coming from Bill's Shop if he where the waterfall was. He said yes.

Nature: My happy Place.

I told him I just wanted someone to follow me to the waterfall to take a few pictures. He said he was not available. I would be sure to find someone when we got to the community of Friendship.

Where I always want to be.

I realized at that moment the Waterfall was not located in Connors but in a district called Friendship.

I stopped at a bridge and waited to see someone willing to accompany me to the waterfall.

I sat on the bridge and watch members of the community doing laundry in the river, kids playing in the river, and riding a bicycle. I was tempted to ask for a ride. I didn't want to stop the kids from having fun.

I have met some of the most amazing people on this planet. The time spent with him reminded me of my trip to Gut River with Ricarda. You were in Saint Catherine with me in spirit.

Our next trip will be epic for sure. I am working on perfecting my swimming. You are not leaving me on land again.

We hiked to Waterfall. Yes, that's the name of the Waterfall according to Ian and the rest of the members of the community. I call it Friendship Waterfall because it is located in a district called Friendship.

I was equipped to meet this hidden gem. Hiking clothes, shoes, food, drinking water, I wore my swimwear under my clothes because there are no bathrooms.

If you don't mind changing in the bushes, you don’t have to wear your swimwear as I did. Also, I brought extra clothing and shoes. I left my mosquito repellant. I made a big mistake.

They had lunch on my legs and hands. I ignored them eventually after seeing and feeling the water on my body.

I walked through the bushes, crossed and walked in the river, climbed huge rocks, and took plenty of pictures in the jungle.

I loved every moment of it. I had a marvelous human being; my new friend Ian that helped me create these new and awesome memories.

While hiking, the chorus of Sia's song Unstoppable rang through my ears. I'm unstoppable. I'm a Porsche with no breaks. I'm invincible, I win every sing game. I'm so powerful, I don't need batteries to play. I'm so confident, I'm unstoppable today.

The clean air, cool breeze, the beautiful music of the birds hidden in centuries-old trees, and the mystical sound of the waterfall in the distance had my heart jumping for joy.

Seeing the beauty of the Waterfall made me feel like I was cheating on Kwame Fall in Saint Mary, Joe Hut Waterfall in Trelawny, Spring Hill Waterfall in Portland, Falling Waterfall in Saint Ann, Copper Hole in Saint Thomas, Johnson Crawl Waterfall in Clarendon, RafJam Waterfall in Saint Andrew, Gut River and Beat Back Waterfall in Manchester, Y.S and Breadnut Valley Waterfalls in Saint Elizabeth.

I'm waiting for the next selfish Instagrammer to post another hidden gem. I will be searching for it and share it with my Instagram family that loves and appreciate my passion for off-the-beaten-path adventures.

Admiring the beauty of the waterfall for a couple of minutes, I started taking as many pictures as possible. Ian was giving me tips on how to pose. I think he heard D'Ann saying, "Doreen, yuh need sum new pose".

It was time to take some pictures in the water. I must say, I had fun running in and out of the water, dancing, floating, and trying to swim.

The water was cold. It didn't bother me because I was happy to be tucked away in the hills of Saint Catherine.

I seriously think Ian was a Videographer and a Photographer in his past life. He did a great job.
