Chasing Waterfalls: Discovering the Enchanting Mingo Waterfall in Robins Bay St Mary

"What is the good of your stars and trees, your sunrise and the wind, if they do not enter into our daily lives?" –E.M. Forster

Jamaica, known for its lush landscapes and natural wonders, holds a hidden gem that few have discovered – the elusive Mingo Waterfall. Introduced to me by my amazing Canadian friend Simone, this captivating waterfall lies on the Green Castle Estate, a 1600-acre ecological haven nestled between the Blue Mountains and the Caribbean Sea on Jamaica's North Coast. This blog post recounts my journey to Mingo Waterfall, an adventure filled with surprises, beauty, and a touch of playful flirtation. My YouTube channel will feature content showcasing enjoyable adventures in St Mary.

My journey to Mingo Waterfall began with a scenic ride from Half Way Tree to Anotto Bay via a coaster bus.

From there, I took a taxi to the Green Castle Estate, where I encountered an unexpected hurdle.

The taxi driver, a long-standing member of the community, was convinced that Mingo Waterfall did not exist, despite working on the estate for years. Undeterred, I proceeded, knowing the existence of the waterfall.

Upon reaching the estate, my knowledgeable tour guide led me through a tour of the property's history.

From its ancient Taino origins over 1000 years ago to its prominence as a sugarcane and banana plantation 300 years ago, the Green Castle Estate has a fascinating past.

Today, it stands as one of the largest orchid and organic farms in the Caribbean, embodying both the island's natural beauty and cultural heritage.

After learning about the estate's history, we ventured towards the elusive Mingo Waterfall.

Unlike the waterfalls in Clarendon Parish, Mingo is discreetly tucked away in the forest of Robin's Bay, adding to its allure.

Mingo's beauty is beyond compare, and as I stood before it, I couldn't help but indulge in some playful flirting with its enchanting charm.

The tour guide explained that Mingo's presence is dependent on rainfall, and it occasionally disappears during times of drought.

Nevertheless, on the day of my visit, Mingo was in full glory, a breathtaking sight that left me feeling honored to have experienced its magic.

The air was crisp and pure, and the abundance of coconuts added a delightful touch to the whole experience.

As a Sagittarian, my determination led me to find this hidden gem, and I couldn't have been happier with the result.

It was a day of pure bliss and enchantment, and I relished every moment of it.

I realized that life is short, and it's essential to seize opportunities for exploration and adventure.

To my friends, I can only express my heartfelt recommendation to visit Mingo Waterfall on this beautiful island of Jamaica.

It may require a little patience and timing, but once you witness its beauty, you'll understand why it's worth the effort.

Mingo holds a special place in my heart, and I'll cherish this memory forever.

In my excitement, I playfully vowed to keep my encounter with Mingo a secret, as if I had a clandestine affair with this mesmerizing waterfall.

After all, some experiences are too special to share with just anyone.

My journey to Mingo Waterfall on the Green Castle Estate was a testament to the wonders that nature hides within its depths.

From the initial disbelief of the local taxi driver to the surprising revelation of Mingo's presence, the experience was filled with awe and joy.

Chasing waterfalls in Jamaica became a memorable adventure that I'll forever cherish, thanks to my amazing friend Simone, who introduced me to this hidden oasis. If you're ever in Jamaica, make sure to keep Mingo Waterfall on your list of must-visit places. The magic of Mingo awaits, and I can assure you that you won't be disappointed.
