Reconnecting with Paradise: My Return to Pretty Close in St. Andrew, Jamaica

“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.” — Jacques-Yves Cousteau

After an extended absence, I finally had the opportunity to revisit my favorite spot in St. Andrew, Jamaica, known as Pretty Close. My YouTube channel will feature content showcasing enjoyable adventures in St Andrew.

With my reservation secured, I embarked on a journey filled with anticipation, ready to immerse myself in the natural wonders that awaited me.

From the bus stop to the narrow path leading to paradise, every step brought me closer to the enchantment of Pretty Close. And upon my arrival, I was warmly greeted by Ramo, the founder of this hidden gem.

As Ramo, also the talented chef, attended to his other guests, we exchanged a few words, reminiscing about my previous visits.

His hospitality and passion for this place were evident, reaffirming my excitement to experience Pretty Close once again. With a sense of anticipation, I set off on my path towards the first waterfall, Fern Fever, a ten-minute hike away.

The hike to Fern Fever presented its own set of challenges, as I climbed over rocks and carefully navigated through spider webs along the narrow path.

However, the obstacles were a small price to pay for the treasures that awaited me.

Each step heightened my anticipation, and my heart raced as I neared the culmination of my ascent.

As I arrived at Fern Fever, my breath caught in my throat. The sight before me was pure magic. The waterfall, cascading down the rocks, created a mesmerizing spectacle that seemed straight out of a dream.

I stood in awe for a few moments, allowing the beauty to wash over me, before I took out my camera to capture the fleeting moments of this ethereal paradise.

With my camera set aside, I embraced the opportunity to climb the rocks and plunge into the inviting waters.

The coolness of the water against my skin revitalized my senses, and I felt an immediate connection with nature.

As I swam and explored, I engaged in meaningful conversations with my alter egos, finding solace and rejuvenation in their company.

Nature truly has a way of providing the perfect backdrop for self-reflection and relaxation.

The allure of Pretty Close compelled me to capture its essence through the lens of my camera.

Throughout the day, I documented the beauty around me, taking over a hundred photos and videos, all attempting to encapsulate the enchantment that surrounded me.

Each image served as a portal to relive these precious moments whenever I desired.

Although Fern Fever held the promise of a perfect ending to my day, I couldn't resist the call to discover more hidden beauty within Pretty Close.

Reluctantly bidding farewell to the captivating waterfall, I continued my journey, eagerly anticipating the next breathtaking encounter.

My return to Pretty Close in St. Andrew, Jamaica, was a testament to the unrivaled allure of nature.

From the taxi rides to the hike, every step led me closer to a paradise that reawakened my spirit. With Ramo's warm welcome, the majesty of Fern Fever, and the conversations with my alter egos, I found solace and inspiration in the heart of Mother Nature.

As I ventured further, I knew that Pretty Close held endless treasures waiting to be discovered. It was a day filled with wonder, and I eagerly await my next reunion with this hidden gem, knowing that more beauty and tranquility await.
