‘The river is constantly turning and bending and you never know where it's going to go and where you'll wind up. Following the bend in the river and staying on your own path means that you are on the right track. Don't let anyone deter you from that’. Eartha Kitt
My first trip to Turtle River falls and garden was with my family. My main aim was to take a lot of photos when but on September 2, 2017 that wasn’t the case. That day I spent with my family just enjoying their company. I tried taking a few pictures and I was glad that I did.
We took a coaster bus from Downtown Kingston to Ocho Rios. The cost was 500 JMD. Our final stop was near Turtle River Park. I asked a taxi driver for directions and he told us he would charge us 600 JMD to carry us straight to our destination. We agreed. He turned onto Eden Bower road, passed Evita’s Italian Restaurant and followed the high walls that lined the road. We soon encounter an untidy hand painted sign stating “No Littering Please!” and just a short journey beyond was the ground of Turtle River Park Falls and Garden.
The friendly security guard welcomed us and was super nice. He directed us to the reception area to pay the entry fee of 1,200 JMD.
Canosa Gardens was the previous name of Turtle River Falls and Garden in 1991. It became Enchanted Garden resort and spa where it became a four star resort with 130 rooms. It came to an end in the year 2000.
Turtle River Falls is located in the beautiful parish of St. Ann in an untamed valley where the river rushes through its water.
There are fourteen stunning waterfalls on the property. Also, a beautiful swimming pool
There is a hugh beautiful lawn known as the "The Great Lawn" that is perfect for picnics. In addition, a band stand is also available that can be used for wedding ceremonies in a beautiful tropical setting.
I am definitely revisiting this stunning location to search for all of its hidden beauty. I am always satisfied when I visit the garden parish of Jamaica.
