Fish Dunn Waterfall: Bath Mineral Spring/Bath Fountain in St.Thomas

“Adventure may hurt you but monotony will kill you.”

I first saw a post on Instagram of a location. I instantly fell in love with it. The post didn't state the specific place in St. Thomas. So I proceeded to the hashtags and saw Bath Fountain. I got so excited. I could not wait to visit as per usual.

Bobo and I ventured to Bath Fountain for the second time to see this hidden gem.

We took a Morant Bay bus located in Downtown Kingston across from Saint Williams Grant Park for JMD 250.00.

We then took a taxi heading to the rural community of Bath in Morant Bay. The community of Bath is rich in history and the oldest Botanical Garden.

Journey to three waterfalls. Yes, three. I too am surprised. I set out in search of one waterfall.

You will cross this bridge and continue right to the fall. Please note, I suggest using one of the guides and make sure to indicate how much you are willing to paye. The hike is not hard and about 20mins or less.

Our stop would have been at Bath Botanical Garden. Then we would take a taxi to Bath Mineral Spring. We decided instead to charter the said taxi  at a total cost of JMD 800.00

When we got to our location, I showed the men that do the massages at the mineral spring pictures of the waterfall. They knew exactly where the waterfall was and indicated that it was called Fish Dunn.

The two men who are massage therapist became our tour guides at a very reasonable price. I hope you have good negotiation skills.

Our journey took us on a dirt track, passing a yellow shop, many springs because of the heavy rainfall.

"Changing Rooms" that I was not comfortable using, a "rasta shop" to name a few landmarks before reaching the Bath Mineral Spring that we enjoyed after our hike to the waterfalls.

We then crossed a concrete bridge and walked through bushes where we saw pipelines put in place by the National Water Commission that feeds the community with clean water.

We also saw a Pine Apple Farm and the pond that stores and the water from the river.

There were five Blue Holes that we also saw on our journey.  If you are brave, you can jump right in. It is that enticing.

On our journey to Fish Dunn, we saw a waterfall I wasn't expecting.  I decided to capture its beauty after visiting Fish Dunn.

After twenty minutes of hiking, I laid my eyes upon Fish Dunn in St Thomas. The Parish of Portland was where I met my first Fish Dunn Waterfall.

processed_20201126_121028-01.jpeg

I was excited. I get to witness yet another stunning waterfall. Tucked away in the hills of St Thomas was nature's gift.

processed_20201126_121132-01.jpeg

To get to the fall, I had to swim over because the swimming pool below the fall was deep. The fall was pounding.  I just took a few pictures and ventured to fall number one.

Guess what? We found fall number two hidden in the bushes.

To be continued….
