Chasing Waterfalls: A Love Story with Hazard

Beyond Ordinary.

Introduction:

In the heart of Carron Hall lies a hidden gem, a waterfall with the enigmatic name "Hazard." My YouTube channel will feature content showcasing enjoyable adventures in the St. Mary

This tale recounts my third and final quest to uncover the elusive beauty of Hazard Waterfall, a journey filled with anticipation, disappointment, and unexpected beauty.

The Buildup:

On my previous visits, Hazard waterfall remained an elusive mystery, tucked away in the lush landscape of Woodside.

Intrigued by its allure, I shared my excitement with a tour guide who was equally eager to embark on this adventure.

We checked the weather in Highgate, preparing for the possibility of witnessing Hazard in its full glory.

The Trek:

This time, we took a different route, securing permission to traverse private property and receiving detailed directions from generous locals.

The distant roar of water heightened our anticipation as we navigated through dense forests, descending steep and rocky paths.

The recent heavy rainfall fueled our hopes, convinced that Hazard would reveal itself in all its grandeur.

The Letdown:

However, our optimism was met with disappointment as we reached the site. Hazard, despite its unique structure reminiscent of Niagara Falls, stood dry and silent.

Undeterred, we decided to make the most of the situation, turning our disappointment into an impromptu picnic by the river that flowed from Hazard and another nearby waterfall. Simone call Hazzard the "Sometimish." waterfall because it only flows when there’s heavy rainfall.

A Turn of Events:

While enjoying the fruits of our picnic and cooling our feet in the refreshing river, we hesitated to give up on Hazard entirely.

It wasn't until the rain began to fall that we witnessed a transformation.

A pool of water formed at the base of the waterfall, and in that moment, I made the decision to explore Hazard despite its previous reluctance.

An Unforgettable Swim:

With caution and excitement, I navigated the rocks, climbed Hazard, and marveled at the breathtaking surroundings.

A pool of icy water awaited me at the bottom, and I seized the opportunity to take a swim, relishing the mist that emanated from the rocks.

The rain intensified, adding to the mystique of the moment.

The Bittersweet Farewell:

Although Hazard hadn't fallen for me in the way I had hoped, the experience was a privilege.

The unpredictable nature of the adventure, the crumbling walls of Hazard, and the genuine risk involved added a layer of excitement.

Despite my initial disappointment, I left with a sense of gratitude for having my heart broken by Hazard.

Conclusion:

Chasing waterfalls, especially one as elusive as Hazard, is not for the faint of heart. This adventure, with its unpredictable twists and turns, is a testament to the beauty and danger that nature can offer. While Hazard may not have fallen for me as I had wished, the journey itself was a two out of ten – a rating that doesn't reflect the unique and unforgettable experience it provided.
