“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I’ll go to it laughing.”
– Herman Melville
Let me be clear, I find waterfalls because it is a passion of mine and I hope I can create a thriving business by exploring beautiful places. Also, encouraging people to explore. But, you explore at your own risk. Most of these places I have only visited once. It is up to you to take a trip into the unknown alone or with someone who is just in business to make a few coins without doing proper research.
The first time I visited Gut River in Manchester was with Ricarda from irie_holiday_tours. I had a spectacular time at Gut River in the parish of Manchester. I knew irie_holiday_tours would be the tour company of choice when I decided to explore where public transportation doesn’t venture.
Ricarda ventured to a community called Mason River in North Clarendon. We wanted to explore a waterfall that I called Mason Waterfall.
When we finally arrived at Mason River, We were greeted by Shaneil, our tour guide and property owner. She was a pleasant soul.
A few men were on the location playing dominos. They welcomed us with open arms.
Shaneil got her hiking gear. Off we went to find Mason Waterfall.
I was super excited to meet Mason because I’ve never fallen in love with this part of the island.
We hiked for about half an hour before seeing Mason hidden in a corner.
Mason wasn’t looking the best because of the lack of rainfall.
I wasn’t bothered because I could see the beauty behind the trickling waters dropping into the pond below.
On my first visit to Johnny Waterfall, there was no sign of water but I created memories with my note 8 knowing I would return to see Johnny in its true form.
So, I will return to North Clarendon to see the sexiness that Mason possesses.
I never thought I would venture to this part of the island.
Mason Waterfall is very much remote and is located on private property.
Mason River was nothing short of amazing. Every inch seems to have forest green, moist, and breathing.
Mason River is a special place.
Nothing gets my heart pumping quite like a hike to a waterfall only to see how beautiful it is.
I never felt more alive and happy like when I’m out searching for hidden waterfalls at home here in Jamaica.
I’m the happiest when I’m deep in the forest, offline and off the grid, as mud presses under my sneakers and the rain kisses my cheeks as I walk through the bushes.
I close my eyes. I could smell the wet earth and hear the birds singing.
I am lucky to have places like Mason Waterfall to visit.
We spent a few minutes at the waterfall before saying goodbye to Mason.
Returning from Mason Waterfall, Sheneil showed us views of the mountains. I was enchanted.

I never wanted to leave at the very spot I was standing. We spotted Bull Head Mountain. I have been longing to visit.
I was very much flirting with nature. I felt close to the heavens.
I want to say a big that you to Ricarda. I would have never found this location hidden in the hills of North Clarendon with you.
